THERE'S ALWAYS A STORY

We were visiting family over the holidays when we began to discuss our plans for the forthcoming Summer. A mere five minutes into the conversation and the words "road trip" entered air space. We had flown by airplane for the last several years with no real road trip adventures on record - 3 minutes more and it was settled - road trip it was.

  • HOW FAR SHOULD WE DRIVE

All road trips are interesting because of the impending flexibility - adding or subtracting destinations can be very empowering. Somehow this road trip quickly took on a life of its own. Central Texas is a days drive from everywhere, which adds signigicant travel time. Particularly if your idea of fun is West Coast oriented. One thing led to another and we were fast approaching a road trip for teh history books (at least for our history books.) Texas to Norther California and back again - yikes!

  • OH YEAH, WE HAVE KIDS

More good news... a trip of this length requires lots and lots of stops, sort of like mini destinations, for the kids to stay on board, and to keep we parents sane. We thought a lot about making the whole thing "educational". Scratch that. And being self-employed, I probably need to visit clients (and some family and friends too.) No matter how well intentioned, this trip was already well out of hand.

  • THE TIMES ARE KINDA TOUGH, RIGHT

I hate to kick a dead horse, but one more shouldn't really hurt - it's already dead. I sat back at my desk thinking about "the road trip" convinced there was a way to make it work, have lots of fun, and maybe even make it interesting - then it came to me - "let businesses advertise on the SUV... with that many miles to drive so many people will see it." It really was that simple a thought. I noodled a bit more, talked to a handful of my closest friends and came up with the ADRoadtrip.com concept you see here today.

  • WRAPPINP UP (NO PUN INTENDED)

So there you have it. We are absolutely headed out in July (actual date TBD) for our most exciting and well documented road trip ever. We'd love to have you along too. Just click the "GRAB YOUR AD BLOCK" button above to get the ball rolling toward this great opportunity. We look forward to all the fun and attention, and hope you will too.
